Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sergei Filkov, a sole proprietor established in the country of Georgia ("TinyFolder", "we", "us", or "our"), collects and uses your information when you use the TinyFolder application and the tinyfolder.app website (the "Service"). We are the data controller for the processing described here.

Contact: support@tinyfolder.app

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• License activation: your email address and license key when you activate a Lifetime Pro license.

• Support: any information you include when you contact support@tinyfolder.app.

• Download link by email: if you ask us to email you the download link (the option we offer on phones, where a Mac app cannot be installed), we store your email address, the approximate two-letter country provided by our hosting provider, and the dates you asked – so that we can send the link and limit abuse of that form. That email is transactional: you asked for it, and we send nothing else unless you tick the optional box. If you do tick it, we also use the address to send occasional product updates; every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete the address at any time.

Information collected automatically

• Device / activation data: to bind your license to your device(s) and prevent abuse, we process a non-reversible (hashed) device identifier derived from your Mac. We do not use it to track you across other apps or services.

• Diagnostics & usage (if enabled): we may collect anonymous, aggregated usage and crash information to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.

• Website analytics (first-party): our website uses first-party, cookieless analytics. We keep only aggregated daily counts – page views (the page path, the referring site, and an approximate two-letter country provided by our hosting provider) and a few named interactions (such as clicks on Download, Buy, or outbound social links). These records contain no cookies, no IP addresses, and no visitor identifier, so they cannot be used to identify you or track you across other sites. Any language preference you choose is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to us.

• Google Analytics (only with your consent): we also use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand which channels bring visitors to the site and how the site performs – including visits from our advertising campaigns. If you accept, Google sets cookies in your browser and processes usage data on our behalf (pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and a randomly generated identifier); Google may process this data outside your country. We ask first: analytics and advertising storage stay switched off until you press Accept on the cookie banner, and declining stores nothing. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookies” link in the footer. See Google's Privacy Policy.

• Reddit advertising pixel (only with your consent): when we run ads on Reddit we load the Reddit Pixel to measure which ads bring visitors and which of them download or buy. If you accept cookies, it records the pages you open on our site and the clicks on our Download and Buy buttons, and sends them to Reddit together with an advertising identifier so Reddit can attribute and optimise our campaigns; Reddit may also use this data for its own advertising purposes as described in its policy. It is switched off entirely until you press Accept, and declining loads nothing from Reddit. See Reddit's Privacy Policy.

Payment information

• Purchases are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates). Paddle collects your name, email, billing address, and payment details to process the transaction and applicable taxes. We never receive or store your full payment-card details. We receive limited order information from Paddle (such as your email, order reference, and country) to deliver and support your license. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.

2. What We Do Not Collect

• TinyFolder requests the macOS Screen Recording permission solely to capture your desktop wallpaper locally, so the app's glass effects can refract it. That image is processed on your device only and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

• We do not sell your personal data. We do not use the data you give us as a customer (your licence email, order or device data) for advertising. The only advertising-related data is what the consent-gated Reddit Pixel collects on this website, described above – and only if you accept it.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To deliver, activate, and support your license (performance of our contract with you);

• To validate licenses and prevent fraud or abuse (our legitimate interests);

• To send you the download link you asked for (performance of a step you requested), and – only if you opted in – occasional product updates (your consent, which you may withdraw at any time);

• To tell customers about TinyFolder itself – new versions and changes to the app you bought (our legitimate interest in supporting our own product). Every such email has an unsubscribe link, one click ends them for good, and it never affects the emails about your licence itself;

• To improve the Service through anonymous diagnostics (our legitimate interests, or your consent where required);

• To comply with legal and tax obligations (handled via Paddle).

4. Sharing

We share information only with: Paddle (payments, tax, billing, and fraud prevention); service providers that help us operate the Service (such as email, hosting, and optional analytics) under appropriate safeguards; and authorities where required by law.

5. International Transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

6. Retention

We keep license and order information for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal and tax obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it. An email address you gave us only to receive the download link is deleted within 24 months of your last request, or sooner if you ask; if you opted into product updates, we keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When you unsubscribe we keep a record that you did, so that we do not mail you again by mistake.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location (including under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@tinyfolder.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For payment data held by Paddle, please contact Paddle directly.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
